How modern slavery is affecting your recruitment agency

Modern slavery is an issue that affects the daily lives of recruiters and recruitment firms. A new report from Lawspeed suggests that the number of victims of slavery has increased from 21 million to 40 million – with an estimated 10,000 victims living in the UK.

Recruiters, the report suggests, are the most likely sector to be involved in modern slavery, as they may be a port of call for traffickers. The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (MSA) made it binding for firms in the UK with a turnover of over £30million to publish an annual Slavery and Human Trafficking statement showing what steps the firm has taken to combat the slavery epidemic.
