Take the finance department for example; staff are often ridiculed for being numerical nerds and criticised for having ‘boring’ personalities because of their intellectual interests. Or even HR. This people-centric function is often plagued by the myth that the department always takes the company’s side, are obsessed with ‘enforcing processes’ and are the sole decision-makers.
