    I totally agree with Nathanael - what strikes me as odd is, that in the past all male shortlists weren't illegal...I wonder why?

    Why does it have to be so absolute? What would be wrong with a list of candidates - 20% Male and 80% Female? - I don't see how precluding a gender from a selection process is helpful for equality or business success. Also.... by asking boards to select from a female only selection list... you are really not addressing the underlying problem of unconscious bias.
