Macildowie experience historical recruitment high

Regional recruitment consultancy, Macildowie, have experienced the busiest month in their 24-year history this January.

The multi-sector agency experienced a 73% rise in jobseeker enquiries during this period. This surpassed a previous month high (February 2016) by 14%.

The company, who run tech-workshops and Mindmill Psychometrics assessments for their candidates, expect this trend to continue into 2017.

James Taylor, Macildowie’s Managing Director, believes that new opportunities will appear across multiple industries - particularly engineering, professional services and manufacturing sectors.

Operating out of Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Derby, Macildowie expect the fast-growth sectors of retail, brewing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, logistics and supply chain to offer further opportunities to candidates.

It was not just Macildowie who experienced a business boom at the beginning of the year, January saw Britain post the world’s fourth-biggest spike in the number of UK jobseekers.

Data from job-search site Indeed reveals that the number of jobseekers increased by 63.6%, compared with the same period in 2016.

Commenting on the surge, Bill Richards, UK Managing Director at Indeed, says: “’New year, new job’ is a global refrain, and January is a perennially busy month for us as people around the world seek to ring the changes and move their career on.
