Top 10 UK cities for recruiters to work in

As we return to our offices, fumble around our desks and try hopelessly to remember our login details, it’s undeniable that Christmas is over and the New Year has begun.

But for those recruiters looking to get a head start on their client bookings, a new report by CV-Library has revealed the top UK cities for candidates looking for a career change and recruiters looking for a vibrant jobs market.

According to the survey, candidates should be looking to Liverpool for the most increase in available roles. However, with new opportunities comes harsh competition, as the jobs site warned that applications for jobs in the city rose 24% in 2016. Counter this with a rise of ten and nine per cent for Edinburgh and London respectively.

Lee Biggins, Founder and Manager of CV-Library, commented on the findings: "It’s great to see the job markets in these key UK cities performing so well, and it’s particularly good news for local job-hunters who are looking for work this January.

“Applications are up, and this figure will inevitably rise this month as candidates embark on a fresh start in their careers. Liverpool, London and Edinburgh are some of the UK’s largest cities so it’s fantastic that there are some great job opportunities for candidates this New Year.

"Furthermore, it’s clear that job growth was witnessed across the South, North and Wales, which is a positive indication that business confidence is strong across the nation.”
